Guisado’s (Los Angeles, CA)

Finally, we made our way from UniqueLA to Forage for delicious seasonal dishes and Brite Spot for dessert to our final destination: Guisado’s!

I have to apologize in advance for some extremely  poor lighting, but I did a semi-decent job bringing some life into these pictures.  If you don’t believe me, I’ll send you the originals!  Without further ado, lets get to the food!

By the way, this is the tiny place that churns out amazing food.  🙂

There are very few tables to eat inside, but it’s actually nicer to eat al fresco!  I didn’t want to scare everyone else by snapping pictures, but there are nice tables, lights, and a pretty mural on the back wall.  Oh, and tons of overgrown plants from the neighbors up the hill.  🙂

Now to the food!  I have to mention that the fresh handmade tortillas are ridiculously delicious.  They are so much better than the store-bought ones.  The texture is almost chewy and they are puffy, yet light.  Just a perfect combination of filling of tortilla.  Yum!

The Bistek en Salsa Rojo was amazing!  One of my favorites for sure, if not my favorite.  So, a definite yes from me!  Also, I was pleasantly surprised by the Mole Poblano!  I am very picky about mole because it can be easily too sweet or too smoky for my taste.  I would definitely recommend trying this, even for non-mole lovers.  🙂

The Tinga de Pollo on the left is my friend’s favorite, so it gets her vote!  It was in the middle of the pack for me, but only because I loved other ones more.  🙂  The Mole Poblano was the same as above.

Pescado – Fish  (left)
Camaron – Shrimp  (right)

The only taco with a significant amount of veggies on top was the fish.  Another of my favorites!  And honestly, I was expecting that I would like the shrimp more, but it was a bit overcooked for my taste.  Maybe just an off night?

The shrimp taco is the same as from above and the Steak Picado was great!  Honestly, they are all great in their own way, so it is just a matter of what you like to eat.

Which tacos would you try?
