The Belvedere (Beverly Hills, CA)

For Father’s Day, my dad had his choice of restaurant for brunch, and he chose The Belvedere at The Peninsula Hotel.  In all honestly, I was not sure what to expect, but it was amazing!

Yes, the restaurant is located in a hotel, but this is not your average hotel cafe.  First of all, The Beverly Hills Peninsula is a hotel where you will see many expensive cars rolling up to the valet.  Since it is located in Beverly Hills, it needs to meet a certain standard, and it absolutely did.

Just before arriving, I checked out some reviews, and one of them simply said, “good bread.”  I had to laugh, because I just read basically an entire novel from someone who detailed every dish, the decor, the service and more.  However, when it arrived, I had to give the guy credit.  The bread was definitely more than good!

Now, for the menu.  It is one of the more interesting concepts I have seen for brunch!  The appetizers are served family style, the entrees are ordered individually, and the dessert selection is an enormous buffet.  Add to that the free-flowing champagne, and it is definitely a good time.

Before the entrees, I wanted to point out one of my favorite parts of the decor.  This huge floral display was gorgeous!  The rest of the decor is of a typical classy hotel, but possibly a bit outdated.

I like to think that I always order the best thing on the menu, and even though everything was amazing, I did it again!  Besides the amazing flavors, textures, and colors, the dish was huge!  I shared with everyone around the table, and still had some left over to take home!  After all, I had to save room for…

So is that good, but maybe not enough?  Well, here is the second half of the buffet, plus an enormous warmed tray of bread pudding.

Here are all of the dishes I could sneak pictures of without getting in the way!  Also, there were no descriptions, so I will try to describe them as best I can…

Just wow.  We did the smart thing and picked one or two of pretty much everything and shared them all.  I did however, get my own gold-dusted macaron.  🙂
