Fugetsu-Do (Los Angeles, CA)

After going to Sake Express, I posted the pretty Fugetsu-Do mochi on Instagram.  Apparently I was missing out on the chocolate mochi, so I had to go back the next day when we parked literally across the street!

It’s a shop with a tiny storefront, but they must have an active kitchen to produce all of the sweets they sell!

A few bags of treats near the beginning next to the shaved ice.

A few savory snacks in a glass case.

A bunch of packaged sweets along with a bunch of beautiful, delicious desserts!

I mean, just look at how vibrant the colors are!

So many of the items had gorgeous decorations as well.

The tiny dessert on the left had a leaf covering too.

These are not mochi, but I love these ones that have a pancake-like outside.  Yum!

And lastly, a few more bean-filled sweets!

Want to know which ones I bought?  I had to buy this Ogura with a fancy fish on top and red bean on the outside.

These three beauties were pretty much all white on the outside…

…but had some beautiful interiors to be eaten!  Also, I assumed the strawberry mochi had a strawberry-flavored button in the middle, but it was actually chocolate.  Surprise, surprise!

Lastly, the chocolate mochi.  I already knew that the peanut butter mochi was melt-in-your-mouth good…

…and this one was somehow even better!  Definitely a must for anyone visiting the shop.

Next time, I’ll try some of the pancake-covered sweets in addition to a few more mochi.  🙂
